Big Black Dog Syndrome?

I was reading this interesting article about Black Dog Syndrome, or BDS.  https://www.thesprucepets.com/black-dog-syndrome-4796374.

Have you ever heard about it?  Black dogs are adopted at much lower rates than lighter colored dogs.  Hmmmm.  The article also mentions how movies and TV portray big black dogs as aggressive and intimidating which causes a fear stigma against certain breed types like pitbulls.  There is also a Black Cat Syndrome in which many people associate black cats with witchcraft.  My dream is for people to pay more attention to the spiritual essence of these lovely animals instead of what they look like!  I know....it's a lot to ask for.
