My little Dandelion gets scared of strangers often. It's probably because a cruel human threw her in a gutter with her sister when she was a kitten. It disgusts me every time I think about it. Below is a picture of Dandelion (left) and twin sister Rosie. They love their new home.
The best way to comfort a scared pet is to use a soft voice and reassure them that everything will be ok. I am also careful not to use any sudden jerky movements like grabbing them or petting too hard. Also this is not the time to be playful. Your furry soulmate is freaked out. Would you like someone making fun of you if you were scared?
